Injuries, Disney and Air Force One

Workout: 7 miles run/walk

Diet: Good!

Yesterday, I attempted the 11-12 miler I had planned for this weekend. Unfortunately, I could only do 7 miles.

For the past two weeks I’ve experienced a lingering pain/soreness on the bottom of my left foot that only gets worse after I run. I thought it would go away by now, but it hasn’t. This sucks big-time since my half marathon is about a month and a half away and these last few weeks are crucial! Cross your fingers that it goes away!

I’m going to take this week off running and pray I’m fine by this weekend. It’s better than continuing to run on it and just making things worse.   I’m going to have to keep my fitness up by cross training, so my elliptical and I are going to become BFFs again.

Aside from that depressing running news, I had a great weekend! The BF took me to see the Disney archives exhibit at the Ronald Reagan library on Saturday. [If you didn't know, I am a bit of a Disney nerd - I have a Disneyland annual pass and the half marathon I'm running is the Disneyland half ;-) ]

They had a lot of cool treasures like this Disney chess set. Also, Walt Disney’s old office was rebuilt there which I found really cool:

Hitchhiking ghosts!

Aside from that, the Reagan museum itself was really interesting. There was a piece from the Berlin wall there and a huge metal beam from the World Trade Center that serves as a memorial to 09/11.

There is also an exact replica of the Oval Office there (only 1 of 2 in the world!) as it existed during Reagan’s presidency:

Awesome!

But,  the best part of the day was going on Air Force One!

We couldn’t take pictures inside for security reasons, but it was so awesome to be inside the plane. I can only imagine all the political secrets being discussed on board.

Anyway, I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and that continues on to this (hopefully short!) week!
