Workout: 10 miles run + 4 mile walk (whew!)
Diet: Fabuloso (like the cleaner)
Yesterday, I had the day off (yay for stretching the holiday out!) so I was determined to get the 10 mile run in. I was well-rested, properly fed, had my route ready and set out.
A nice fog pervaded the town during the first hour of the run. I went really easy (read: slow). Around the 5 mile mark the fog lifted and the sun started to heat things up.

I had a shot blok every half hour after the first hour of running. It worked well for me. The last three miles were the toughest. The heat was getting to me and I ran out of water. Luckily, I was coming up on a water fountain along my route and filled my bottle up.
I also had my music with me this time around, which motivated me to keep going, especially at the end. I think I will bring my iPod along on runs longer than 6 miles.
Also, I had planned my route so that the last mile would be all downhill, and I’m glad that I planned it that way. I even had a little reserve to sprint at the end. Yay!
In the early evening, my parents invited me to go on a four mile walk with them. I was super tired but I remembered how much that helped me reduce soreness on a previous long run, so I agreed. It was tough, but I do feel great today.
I have 5-6 miles planned for this weekend. After 10 miles, 6 miles is nothing!
Have a wonderful Friday and weekend!
