I have been super motivated the past couple of days to workout and eat right because of my vacation
and all the deep dish I ate. I hate when vacation ends and I have to wake up and go back to real life. I’m already planning where I can escape on my next long weekend … Palm Springs? San Diego? Santa Barbara?
Sometimes I wonder what it would be like to travel for my job. It seems so fun and glamorous to be a travel writer or hotel reviewer. But I’m sure it would get lonely at times. For me, the best part of vacation is sharing the experience with your loved ones.
But I digress.
Running in hot weather is tough! The longer runs are coming up in my training so I plan to wake up EARLY in the weekend to do them. Yesterday, I waited until 5pm to get my run in, but it was still 82 degrees when I headed out. I knew running straight and fast would be impossible for me so I did a run-walk. I drank the water that I brought with me when I got tired (FINALLY I learned my lesson!). I felt good and exhausted by the time I got home.
I’m thinking about adding minimal speed work to my training on one day to improve my overall pace, but we will see.
